These are great. The colored blocks all come in infinite sizes, or one different size for each block. Two blocks that look like the same size at first glance will be different by up to a quarter of an inch. Hole pieces will fill some holes and not others. Patterns are not straight. Towers will sometimes fall over from stacking blocks with subtle size differences. Given the high education cost and low job prospects of architects, wouldn’t you want to discourage you child’s instinct to build now?
And there’s more! These Made-in-China toys come in a handy plastic bag, sized for a child’s head and looking a bit like a hat. This encourages you to keep a close eye on your children, or to finally put toys in a toy box.

We got just a few of these in a giveaway and couldn’t wait to buy the whole set. They are soft and lightweight but incredibly sturdy. I let my kids (4 and 2) play with these without worrying about them getting hurt by falling towers. The colors are rich and beautiful, the blocks all fit together (2 of a certain size are the same length as 1 of another) so they are great for early math skills.
