For my son’s third birthday, he insisted on getting the Hasbro “Repulsor Power Iron Man” action figure. At right around eleven inches tall, this figure is big enough that younger hands can hold him with ease yet detailed enough for older children to appreciate. The figure comes armed with a projectile launcher that holds and fires a “claw” missile and a “repulsor energy” projectile. It attaches to the figure’s arm and features two easy-to-fire buttons. Both of the projectiles have a decent amount of weight to them, and fire around two to three feet from the launcher. Many launchers such as this one are usually cheaply made, but this one, much like the figure itself, is very durable and has held up very well against the might of a three-year-old boy.
Also included is another weapon that attaches to the figure’s arm. It also has projectiles in it, but they do not fire. They are permanently attached to the unit. This is handy if your child is prone to firing projectiles and then losing them.
The figure also says a few phrases, though some might want to know that Robert Downey, Jr.’s voice was not used. The phrases range from the cocky “Yeah, I can fly,” to the loud “Rhodey!” The sayings are triggered by pressing Iron Man’s Arc Light Chest plate. The plate lights up when the character speaks. The repulsors in the figure’s hands do not light up at all, but look as if they are about to fire off.
Overall, this is an excellent figure. It is very durable and built to withstand plenty of punishment from youngsters. The figure does not have many points of articulation which, depending on the individual, can be a good thing since it means there are fewer places on the figure to potentially break. I highly recommend to anyone with a young child who is interested in Iron Man. He’s big and tough enough for little kids, but detailed enough to impress even the oldest collector.

Yes, I realize my son is a little young for this action figure. He however disagrees. At 19 months old, Iron man is my son’s favorite super hero! He loves the movie, and anytime he sees anything related to iron man in stores he jumps up and down cheering “I Iron Man!!!” This toy has become a favorite of his! It is surprisingly durable and has withstood all his abuse. I did remove the “launching projectiles” to prevent him from injuring himself or me, and he plays with it daily under supervision…
The action figure says several phrases and the sound quality is excellent. The paint job is excellent as well, and I would have to say this is one of the best action figures I have seen in a while (it does not look or feel cheap) and you can not beat the price! (We picked it up on sale for $15 a month or two ago)
If you are looking to buy an iron man figure… GET THIS ONE!

Peace,
My 3yr old son loves Iron Man anything. I lucked out 2 weeks ago at BJ’s Wholesale and got (this) the last one on cleareance for $6.80!!!! My son plays with it everyday, and has already memorized the pre-recorded phrases that Iron Man says after you push the button on his chest. The only con I have for this item is that, for a 3yr old the two launching projectile accessories are high risk for eye injuries. My son doesn’t understand why he needs to point them away from his face, or anybody elses face before ejecting them. Problem solved, I just removed and hid the two launching projectile accessories out of his reach & sight. When I get tired of hearing the phrases, I tell him he may continue to play with the toy without pressing the button and he obeys. Hope this helps!

This is one of my favorite Iron Man action figures. After purchasing the figure at Target, I had to buy two! I am an avid robot action figure collector…from detailed Transformers figures to Iron Man figures, I pay special attention to the level of detail of an action figure before I place my purchase. For this Iron Man 2 figure in particular, I don’t really care about the missiles or weapons that come with the figure. This Iron Man 2 Repulsor action figure alone stands to be a highly detailed figure that many people underestimate. I am surprised that this figure has not sold out yet anywhere, at least in my area. For all you Iron Man action figure collectors…you should not pass this figure up. Well-worth the $20! He even talks if you press the triangle on his chest! Sweet! I catch myself staring at the figure in “awesomeness” because of the great detail. Paint applications are great…no smears or blotches. Hasbro has done it with this figure to perfection! If you are reading this review, I say don’t hesitate and buy because you won’t regret it! If there was a Repulsor-version War Machine I would be all over that too. Come on now Hasbro, you need to come out with a War Machine repulsor action figure with the same high level of detail as Iron Man. I am waiting…until that comes out I’ll have to settle with the Marvel-Select version, which I hear mixed reviews on. Hope you enjoyed this review!
