My 21 month-old daughter really likes this toy. Within two days she had learned the names of each of the insects and memorized which ones go in which spaces. She enjoys doing puzzles and this one provides a nice twist by making it into a game where you have to “catch” the bugs.

I purchased this for my twin 3 year old granddaugters. They really enjoy it because it is both a puzzle and a game. It has the same great quality expected from Melissa and Doug. It definitely helps hand and eye coordination. While they still really enjoy it, I wish I had bought it when they were younger.

I purchased this puzzle for my 17 month old daughter for Christmas. She loves it.
It is a great tool to teach hand eye coordination. It took her about 1 day to go from holding the magnet directly over the puzzle piece, to being able to hold the net from the handle. Now she’s a pro! I have so many Melissa and Doug puzzles. They are great!
The ONLY thing that isn’t great is… If your child still puts everything in his/her mouth, the paper on top of the wood pieces ,will come off some. I only let her have the puzzle while I’m right with her!
I plan to buy the Ocean creature puzzle next!

This has been fun for both the one year old and two and a half year old. The puzzle is sturdy and colorful.

We really like this toy. It’s like a puzzle, but a bit more challenging because of the fishing element. Doesn’t hold kids’ attention as long as I’d like, but they do go back to it fairly often. Nicely designed, well made and durable. I do wish there was a place to attach the net piece for storage.
