I tutor kids with dyslexia and AD/HD and teach them phonics (Orton-Gillingham). I am always looking for ways to spice up a lesson. So far I haven’t found a kid who doesn’t like practicing vowel teams, silent-e and consonant blends using this game. I modify it and we take turns, and I help them make their words. This can be a very helpful educational game for kids and adults who need to practice their phonics skills!

Boy, I sure feel better. Oh, Hi there. I didn’t see you come in. But now that you’re here, let’s talk about Scrabble Slam!

I just got done playing a round with the wife and kids and while it wasn’t long before we gravitated from slamming our cards on the table in that first rush of healthy-feeling anger to actually pummeling one another right in the face, it’s great exercise. Sure, we’re all bruised up for a few days after, but it’s a good kind of pain; it’s a visual reminder that we always have each other rain or shine … or shiner!

It’s also taught the old battle axe that four-letter words are OK, so we can all gather around and watch Tarantino flicks together, which is so much better than “The Sound of Music” for the 50th time. It’s very liberating, I must say. And just between you and me, I can’t wait until the in-laws stop by for the holidays!

I was a little disappointed with this game. Not as fun or stimulating as I thought it was going to be. Can be confusing with the layout of the cards having letters on both sides. Can also be repetitive with players changing the same letters to make the same words over and over again. If wanting a word game, buyer is better off with original Scrabble, Boggle or Bananagrams.

I was excited when I saw this advertised. I love Scrabble and I do pretty well at it. This just really was not much fun at all. If you want to try one of these card games, the Monopoly one was much more fun.

this game looked like great fun on tv so bought it. They are to be gifts so haven’t played yet. We love games so I think it will be a winner. Can’t give a fair rating yet though.
